Hello my name is Dawn V Collins. I am a Doula and Founder of Birth Matters b/c Family Matters LLC established to provide Community-based Perinatal Doula services, Breastfeeding Education and Support, Childbirth Education and Support, Newborn Care Education and Support, Pregnancy and Infant Loss Advocacy Support, Postpartum Support and Evidenced-Based Information. 

I am also the Louisiana Count The Kicks Ambassador ready to spread awareness, educate and empower birthing persons, their support team and maternal health providers about the importance of fetal movement, how easy it is to track those movements and how that collected information can decrease stillbirths. 

I am excited to be a part of the Inaugural Louisiana Doula Registry Board. We will be working toward Doulas reimbursement via health insurance, which will promote safe and equitable care for every mother and every birth in the state of Louisiana. 

I am honored to partner with the Geaux Far Louisiana Steering Committee, which aims to improve early childhood systems and recognizes healthy mommas, babies, partners and families are an important factor to that system.
